Pastor's Corner-Christmas Gifts
December 5, 2009
Although we have passed the official Thanksgiving holiday, I am still thanking God for the blessings of this year and specifically the outpouring of love shown to me and my family during my 19th pastoral anniversary. I am also celebrating the marvelous manner in which our members, friends and supporters participated in the annual corporate recognition breakfast of our community development corporation. This year we had the best breakfast we have ever had.

Pastor's Corner-Thank You

Words cannot express my appreciation to everyone for the outpouring of love that I received for my 19th pastoral anniversary. I never dreamt that I would be the pastor of this great church for 19 years. But I also never thought I would have so many members and friends who would love and support me and my family. I had a long list of thanks to convey to God on Thanksgiving.

Pastor Corner - Men of Valor

This year we were going to have a Men’s Retreat but we changed our minds. Instead we decided to partner with a national men’s conference that is one of the most dynamic annual men’s events I have ever experienced – the Mighty Men of Valor Conference in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. This conference features great speakers, wonderful music and outstanding fellowship. And 2000 men attend from all over the country. Last year there were 25 men from California alone!

Pastor's Corner - The Grio

I am going to be doing a weekly opinion piece on a new NBC owned black news website thegrio.com. This site is one month old and had 287,000 unique visitors last month. My first piece is “The” Black Church Does Not Exist, and I will have a new article on or about every Tuesday.
