The Final Stretch Greetings! We’re excited to be in the final stages of the Pulpit Search Committee’s (PSC) work and to bring to you the candidate we recommend as the next Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens!

Important Election Information,

A mock election, which enables members to practice and prevent issues during the actual election, will be held April 22, 2021. The election has been scheduled for May 22, 2021.  Elections will be conducted using Election Runner software. FBC encourages members to register and cast their ballot electronically.

I’m Deacon Lawrence Hibbert and I’m here to provide you with an important update on our search process.

As a reminder, our congregation appointed a Pulpit Search Committee to guide the church in succession planning after Pastor Soaries made his retirement announcement in July 2019.

Dear Members of the First Baptist Church Community,

We bring you blessings and good news from the Pulpit Search Committee (PSC).  We hope this letter finds you well, safe and healthy.  Over the past months, the Lord our God has reaffirmed to us that He remains the head of this world. He is our strength and redeemer, our song and salvation. Our shout and praise for Him are shared in this letter to you. Hallelujah!

Since August, the Pulpit Search Committee (PSC) has been providing monthly updates through Faith In Action Central (FIAC), along with providing updates at the End of Year Church Meeting and January 2020 Leadership Meeting. Based on the questions we have received from congregants, we are providing answers to FAQs (frequently asked questions).

Celebrating the Contributions & Legacy of Pastor Soaries, First Lady Soaries & the Soaries Family

Greetings and we hope this message finds you in good spirits as we pray for continued blessings over you.  Plans for Pastor’s 30th Anniversary celebration are underway. The team is currently focused on a series of events throughout this year, including media presentations, a musical tribute, a community event, celebration of our First Lady, and dynamic preaching. As we map out each event and our celebration schedule, we’ll send periodic updates.

The goal of the Pulpit Search Committee is to create a seamless transition through a transparent and open process to recommend to the church a candidate for senior pastor who is capable of building upon the inspired legacy of FBCLG and Pastor Soaries. With your support and continued prayers, we believe that God will provide a leader that will build on our strong foundation and remain focused on unifying our church to do the Lord’s work, utilizing the strength of our diversity, attracting and retaining active members, and ensuring financial continuity.
