The FBCLG Church Covenant is a combination of scriptures and statements that express our corporate response to God’s purpose, Christ’s message, and the Holy Spirit’s empowerment.
What experience defines our spiritual fellowship and covenant relationship?
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus as our Savior and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
What is the bond of our union?
“By Grace through faith, we are saved. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.” We are God’s own special people, who proclaim the praises of God, “Who calls us from darkness into light.”
What are our privileges and duties in this Church?
We affirm our commitment to Worship, Discipleship, Stewardship, Fellowship, and Caring for one another.
What vows do we make as stewards of God’s gifts of money, time, and talent?
To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
What tasks do we assume as the people of God?
To go and to teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all that Christ commands.
To what lifestyle and conversation are we pledged?
“To do goodness, love mercy, and walk humbly before our God.” To love the Lord God with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
What should we do if we leave this community?
If we leave this church we will as soon as possible, unite with a church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant.
What benediction concludes our covenant?
“May the God of peace who brought again from the dead, the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, even our Lord Jesus, make us perfect in every good thing to do God’s will, working in us that which is well pleasing in God’s sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever.” Amen.
Pastor’s Greeting
Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens’ website! I hope you use this new and improved resource to learn more about how we are bringing disciples to Christ and improving not only our local, but, universal communities. At First Baptist, we pursue excellence in service, consecration in worship, fortitude in faith and valor in action. We are a body of believers who support the edification and charitable deeds worldwide through faith in action.
The cornerstone of our ministry is deeply rooted in five values: Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Stewardship and Pastoral Care, with Worship being foremost. I invite you to view our worship services online every Sunday at 7 and 10 a.m. EST. From teaching people to live debt free through our Dfree Ministry, to helping alleviate the detriment of natural disasters, to partnering locally to provide access to resources aimed to improve people’s quality of life, and taking a stand for the least of these, First Baptist is committed to creating a legacy for our members and the community. We are arming people all over the world with information to make choices that will genuinely impact their lives.
We have programs for the youth to senior citizens and are transforming lives through Christian Education, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Now that you have a quick overview of First Baptist, I want you to know that you can access our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We will keep the content fresh, so it will continue to be a source of valuable information for you. I am committed to making your engaged online experience a worthwhile one. Thank you for visiting and I look forward to seeing you again, soon.
