Position Title: Security Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Classification: Part-time
First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens is seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Manager to join our team. The Security Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our church community, with a primary focus on providing protection and support for our senior pastor. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in security management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive security protocols to ensure the safety of the senior pastor during church services, events, and travel.
- Conduct risk assessments and threat evaluations to identify potential security vulnerabilities and proactively mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and external security partners to enhance the senior pastor’s security measures when necessary.
- Arrange and oversee secured transportation for the senior pastor, including coordinating drivers and maintaining the safety and integrity of the senior pastor’s travel routes.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained and equipped with necessary security features to minimize risks during transportation.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of security officers responsible for safeguarding the church premises and ensuring the safety of congregants.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to security personnel, including conducting regular performance evaluations and implementing training programs to enhance their skills.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for all members and visitors.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address various security threats, including active shooter incidents, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
- Conduct drills and training exercises to prepare staff and volunteers for emergency situations and ensure a coordinated response.
- Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services to facilitate prompt and effective responses to security incidents.
- Collaborate with event organizers to assess security needs and develop customized security plans for church events, conferences, and special gatherings.
- Oversee the deployment of security personnel and resources to ensure the smooth execution of security protocols during events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in a church or religious institution setting.
- Law enforcement background (preferred)
- Active Sora License (required)
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing security personnel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of security best practices, emergency response procedures, and risk management principles.
- Certification in security management or relevant field (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Certified Security Manager) preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Working Conditions: The schedule includes Sundays and onsite hours during the week. Hours will vary based on programs and events.
